Custom Infrared Equipment

Wisconsin Infrared Systems designs and manufactures custom infrared equipment for a wide variety of projects. A few of the recent custom applications include heat-treating uranium plates for armored vehicles, curing powder coatings on mines, curing water-based paint on leather, heat-treating injectors for helicopters, curing solvent-based coatings on tractor-trailers and bus frames, shrink wrapping coatings on steel cables, curing coatings on wood door and window frames, drying plastisol on foam products for sound-proofing, and others.

Custom equipment can be classified into one of three main product types: batch, conveyor, and indexing-batch (which is a combination of batch and conveyor).

Custom batch IR ovens vary in design, as well as size. Different designs within the batch category include top-load, bench, cabinet, tip-up, bell, as well as the standard front-load. Chamber sizes begin at 2' wide x 2' deep x 2' high.

Some of the different custom conveyor IR oven designs include flat belt, spindle (chain-on-edge), overhead trolley, carousel, ferris wheel, dog-beam, pusher, web/strip, powered roller, pin, slat, tenter frame, tow-line, and others.

Indexing-batch ovens are simply a batch oven that has a conveyor running through the chamber that indexes the load.

IR heaters of all types, styles, and sizes can be added to these various oven configurations, based on the products being processed. They can be arranged to heat from the top, the bottom, sides, or any combination thereof, depending on your part configuration.
